Q1.
What should I do if it is past the estimated delivery date and I have not
received my parcel yet?
We are sorry to hear this. If the parcel still hasn't arrived on the
estimated delivery date,
please inform us and let us know how we can help you before you leave the
negative feedback! There are so many reasons for the delay
in shipping. Most of the time it is because the parcel goes through inspection
at the customs causing a delay in arriving time. When the parcel arrives,
please take a look on the post mark, then you'll know the shipping date!
We always ship the parcel right after we complete
the application of the phytosanitary certificate. If we delay the shipping
schedule, we'll inform you via e-mail. We appreciate your understanding!
Q2.
Australia has a strict quarantine process. Is there any thing I should know,
before
purchasing seeds?
We have an extensive experience in exporting seeds to Australia.
First we will apply the quarantine/phytosanitary certificate in Taiwan,
and we will ship seeds in a zipper bag and put inside a sealed envelope
enclosed with the quarantine certificate and invoice. It might take
a few days for the parcel to leave the customs or quarantine bureau in Australia.
We care about the quality of seeds, so there may not be any problem at all.
In this situation, there may be a delay in delivery time. But if you
have any problems, please do contact us as soon as possible, we'll do our
best to help you.
Q3.
If I live in Brazil, can I purchase grafted plants and seeds?
First, we're
sorry to inform that we've stopped selling any grafted
and plants now.
As for exporting seeds, the Custom in Brazil doesn't admit the quarantine
certificate from Taiwan, even though we've tried so many ways to resolve
this problem, but nothing has worked so far. From
now on, the seeds we send to Brazil all will be sent via Ordinary
mail, and ordinary mail will
not have the tracking number also it might
take 20~30 days to arrive in Brazil.
It has also some risks. But it's a proper way to send the seeds to
Brazil now. Moreover, if you purchase over 3000 seeds in one time,
then we'll package seeds in
two different parcels (no need to pay extra shipping fee), just in case
it is held at Customs. Therefore, we hope the customers living
in Brazil, if you have any questions, please inform us before you purchase
the seeds. We'll be really grateful for it.
Q4. When will you send the seeds to me after I win the bidding?
We
will ship your order after you complete the payment and we complete the
quarantine certificate process of the seeds.
Once your order has been shipped, you will be sent a confirmation email.
Q5.
Why should I subjoin my phone number with my address?
In our experience, it helps the postman contact you if you are not home
when the parcel arrives.
Q6.
May I combine the shipping fee with the items I m still bidding on?
We're
able to do so, but please kindly inform us as soon as possible.
We only could combine you order for 2 weeks (most), the items you purchase
should be checked out on the second week whether you win the items on the
second week or not.
Q7.
What happens if my parcel is sent back to Taiwan?
In general, if nobody is present to receive the delivery, you will find
a note in your mailbox, stating that they tried to deliver your package
or they will call you to inform. Therefore, please
subjoin your phone number behind your address, because it helps postman
contact with you if you are not home. On the note you will find instructions
about what to do. In most cases you don't have to do anything, and the package
is offered again the next day.
If multiple delivery attempts failed and you failed to collect your order at the pickup point within allocated time, then post office will return the parcel back to Taiwan. In our experience, the parcel will take more than a month to arrive. In order to maintain our good qualities and credit, we suggest buyers to replace a new one. However, we will charge you extra 30% replacement fee and shipping fee. Therefore if you do not receive your order for a long time, we recommend you to call the post office or go to the nearest post office to learn the whereabouts of your parcel with tracking number information.
Q8.
If I want to pay by mailing cash to you, why can't I mail the older version
of U.S. dollar bills?
Most of the banks in Taiwan have latest US dollar bill detector, and
the machines only recognizes new version US dollar bills.
Q9.
What should I do if my purchase amount is not over USD$100 and I can't pay
via PayPal?
Usually, if the amount is not over USD$100, we strongly suggest you make
payment via PayPal. But if you need to make payment by mailing us
cash, please note that we only accept cash
and only accept
new edition USD. (Please ask the bank teller to give you the
new edition USD
Moreover, we don't accept the check.
If
you're going to mail us your payment. We suggest you can wrap the money
with thicker paper and put into an envelope for safety.
Because transferring the money via banks would charge extra handling fee
for both buyer and seller. I have to pay USD$25 handling fee for bank
each time I receive a payment.
Therefore, I highly recommend all customers if you can't make payment
via PayPal, then please make payment by mailing us the cash (registered
mail) if your order is less than USD$100.
Q10. Why has not my parcel arrived yet?
According to our experiences, there might be two reasons to explain
this situation. First, if this is your first time purchasing the seeds
from us. Therefore, the Customs in your country will not have your
registration, it will be examined strictly. Normally, it will take
about 14 days to arrive the destination. But, when you purchase next time,
the procedure of delivery will be more smooth.
The second reason might be the postman tried to deliver the parcel yet there was no one to receive it and the parcel might be at the pickup point waiting to be collected. That is the reason why we request our customers to provide their telephone number for us, so that the postman can inform you.
If you do not receive the parcel in the estimated delivery time, then please kindly inform us again, we'll do our best to help you. Thanks!
Q11.
Why do we use the registered mail to ship the parcel, can't we use the regular
mail?
Because the registered mail is trackable and more secure. You can use
the serial number to trace the parcel easily.
It is convenient for both seller and buyer.
If the parcel is sent via ordinary mail, no additional info will be updated
after departure. it is not traceble if the parcel is lost during transit.
We can't guarantee for
the parcel will not disappear during the delivery.
Unless you ask us to send the parcel by this method, we'll send the parcel
by registered mail (except Brazil).
Q12.
How are the mixed 100 seeds being packed?
There are 10 varieties and each variety are contain 10 seeds;
They are separately packaged with each varieties. Therefore, there
are 10 small packages in one big package.
Q13.
What is the best way to store the seeds, if I am not going to sow them now?
We suggest the customers sow their seeds as soon as they can, because
the earlier you start sowing the seeds the higher the germination rate will
be. But if you're not able to sow them now, then you should store
the seeds, each variety in the zip bag, in an airtight jar, better with
a desiccant, and put the jar in a dry, dark
area far from the kitchen or bathroom. Please note that the stored temperature
should not be too high (better not over 30 degrees) or too low. This way
you can keep your seeds safe.
Q14.
Do you sell any grafted plants now?
We're sorry to inform all the Adenium lovers here, we've stopped selling
grafted plants now. We only sell the seeds. But if we restart selling
the grafted plants, we'll re-list them on our eBay shop, hope you can understand.
Q15.
It's my first time to sow Adenium seeds, can you give me any advice?
Our seeds are dry and in complete dormancy to preventing from wetness
in case they are ruined by mildew during transit.
After you receive the seeds, you must soak them in the water for 2-4 hours
before sowing in order to increase the germination rate. After sowing,
you should keep the soil wet for 10 days until the sprouts appear.
Please take care of the temperature, which will affect the germination rate
directly. The suitable temperature is between 23-35 Celsius degree.
Before you prepare for sowing, you should check out the weather forecast
and make sure that the weather will continuously be sunny for the following
7 days. Or it will affect the germination rate.
The following links are very useful for learning to sow the Adeniums better LINK1 LINK2 LINK3
PS. In rainy days, please don't water them and remember to move them indoors.
Q16.Why
do I need to make a reservation for the seeds, grafts or plants in advance?
Since there are lots of variables affecting the availability of seeds
and grafted plants, such as
the success rate of grafting and pollination, the weather, the growth rate,
etc.
Some varieties of seeds and grafts may not be available, please inquire
via e-mail before purchasing.
Our goal is to meet your expectation by providing the best plants and seeds.
Q17.
May I appoint paternal or maternal origins of seeds I order?
Many customers ask for proof of maternal origins in order to meet
the agricultural requirements of the respective countries,
and clients in the field of research may ask for both paternal and maternal
certificate.
When we receive the order and if it asks for paternal or maternal origins,
it may take 4~7 months to complete the entire process.
Also, clients will be required to pay a half of the total payment in advance.
Q18.
Why does not the adenium grow seedpods easily?
Because the adenium cannot pollinate by itself, it does not grow seedpods
easily.
It needs other flowers that can be on the same plant to help complete pollination.
Other than the help of insects, it really requires artificial pollinating.
To be able to perform the task of artificial pollinating,
one must fully understand the structures of the adenium in advance.
Pic-1 The
adenium does not really presents its pistils and stamen, but they are hidden
inside the throat.
1. Use a pair of
scissors to cut off 2/3 of the flower's throat.
Be careful not to cut off the five filaments because the stamen is inside
of the filaments.
These five filaments will be in shapes of upside down funnels, and the pollen
is inside the top of the filaments.
The color of the pollen is yellowish.
2. To retrieve the
pollen, one can simply pull off the tip of two filaments.
As you pull off the two filaments to retrieve pollen, you will notice pollen
is not much,
so you need to be very careful for manipulate. If you are not careful enough,
it is very likely that you will lose the pollen.
3. Gradually removing
the rest of the filaments and pistils that are wrapped by the filaments
will be revealed.
Place the pollens at the sticky area on top of the pistils.
4. When you have
finished the above steps, your have successfully cross-pollinated the flower.
5. A good proof that
you have successfully conducted pollination is that the flower will drop
after a couple of days. Then waiting for one or two more days, the calyx
should turn slightly red and will be getting bigger and bigger.
6. The best time
to cross-pollinate is after adenium blooming for 2~3 days and it can be
operated anytime.
Q19.
How do I take care of my seedpods?
1.You can wrap
the seedpods inside panty hoses.
2.If you think panty
hose are a bit weird and will feel embarrassed
if your neighbors gossips about your flower,
you can tape it or tie it up with a rubber band so the seeds will not fly
away.
However, please make sure not to bind them too tight.
When the seedpods are nearly matured,
the appearances will turn a bit yellow and after 2~3 days the seedpods will
start to open.
If you do not tie up your seedpods before they open, the seeds with furry
ends will start to fly away.
Q20.
What are the tactics for a successful seedling germination?
Picture
of Sowing Experiences
1.
Blocking 50% of the sunlight that directly beam at the plant.
Because blocking 50% sunlight will create a better climate and environment
for the seeds to grow.
The temperature about 25~35 degrees Celsius is the most suitable for growing
seeds.
2. After sowing seeds,
the material and soil need to be abundant watered within 10 days.
(Before the Desert Rose sprout out its first two leaves, it is not afraid
of water).
3. The seeds
should be placed horizontally into the basins or trays.
The best depth under the cultivating
materials would be 1 cm.
4. For successful
germination,
half would go to the quality of the seed and the other half goes to how
you water the your seeds
under 20~35 degrees Celsius for the next 15 days
(if the temperature is lower than 18 degrees Celsius, it will not germinate
as expected).
Please keep the soil moist and watering by spray. Don't water them by watering
pipes.
If you realize the key of these steps, germinating rate would be as high
as 95%.
Q21.
Why did some seeds sprout, some others didn't start to sprout?
In general, our seeds will take 5~ 14 days to
germinate.
It is normal, because our seeds are all dry.
So, it will take time to start to germinate after you planted them.
Some of them may have prompt germination, so they sprout faster than the
rest ones.
It will be ok. We think the seeds will germinate continually.
Q22.
What is the difference if I purchase designated red breeds and non designated
red breeds?
If you just tell us you want to purchase red breeds,
it meant you do not designate its name, so it meant all the red breeds.
The Red-mixed breeds will not have specific stock plant to produce the seeds,
and we all use hand pollinate.
If you designate its name of red breeds, the price will be a little expensive
than non designated seeds.
But, the designated red seeds, we can guarantee it will produce from the
specific stock plant.
Q23.
What should I do if the germination rate is below average?
If you have the problem that the germination rate
is not good, please inform us as soon as possible.
Thus, we can check with other customers who have bought our seeds at same
time and record if the seeds harvested at the same time face the same situation
with you. If the feedback of germination rate from other customers is good,
we will handle it according
to your germination rate information.
We record our seeds situation and improve our seeds quality better during
the production and the harvest season.
We have been a reliable seller on ebay for many years. Please don't worry
to purchase our seeds.
We will do our best to serve our customers.
Q24. Are Multi-petal varieties more unstable?
2022 The Successful Artificial Pollination....
1.Pink:
It reaches 85% for pink seeds to bear pink flowers.
2.White: It reaches 95% for white seeds to bear white flowers.
3.Red: It reaches 95% for red flowers seeds to bear red flowers.
4.Stripe Lined: It reaches 70% for stripe-lined seeds to bear striped-lined
flowers.
5.Dark Purple: It reaches 10% for dark purple seeds to bear dark purple
flowers.
6.Light Purple: It reaches 30% for light purple seeds to bear light purple
flowers.
7.Peach: It reaches 70% for peach seeds to bear peach flowers
8.Red Lining Adenium with Five Petals: It reaches 20% for red lining Adenium
with five petals flowers seeds to bear red lining adenium with five petals
flowers.
9.Yellow: It reaches 20% for yellow seeds to bear yellow flowers
10.White petal with red curving: It reaches
95% for white petal with red curving seeds to bear white petal with red
curving.
11.White Arabicum: It's a rare variety. According to our experiences, the
offsprings of Arabicum only have about thousandth of percentage could grow
into the purely white Arabicum. Most of it might be grow into pink color
or some of them they might grow into white with red edge or red. We haveve
tried many ways to improve this issue and hope we will be successful in
blooming the pure white flower sooner.
12. Variegated Leaves White: Basically, variegated leaves is mutant varieties.
So far we still can not make sure how many percentage chance that it will
grow into exactly like Variegated Leaves. We've been working on developed
the better offspring of Variegated Leaves for a long time, but it still
needs luck to make it grow exactly like its mother plant. So before you
order the Variegated Leaves please make sure that you have read this information.
13. New Double and triple layer Adenium: It
reaches 25~50% for Double and triple layer seeds to bear Double and triple
layer flowers.
That's why some customers said the result is like playing the lottery, it still needs luck to make it grow exactly like its mother plant.
Q25.
How do you pack the seeds for shipping?
The seeds are packed in a zipper bag with name tags and quantity of
the seeds inside and we place them inside a bubble padded envelope (like
a jiffy bag, please refer to the PICTURE) enclosed with the quarantine
certificate and invoice.
Q26.
Would harsh weather conditions affect the seeds during transit?
The seeds we supply are dry and in complete dormancy because the seeds
need to be exported. And the seeds are packed in a zipper bag, we place
them inside a bubble padded envelope. So the seeds are still in dormancy
regardless of how severe weather is outside. That is why we always ask our
customers to soak the seeds
for 2-4 hours before sowing, so that the seeds could wake up from dormancy
after 2-4 hour's soaking.
Q27.
Could you please tell me the difference between Adenium seeds KO and Adenium
¡ñx¡ð Pollination seeds?
The pollination seeds indicate its father, and we could determine if
the offspring will be better, what their flower color will be & whether
they will have multi-petals or not.
When it comes to KO_ebay + number seeds or other varieties, because the father's name is not provided, the seeds are named from the mother plants directly, for example, if we harvest seeds from KO_ebay01, the seeds are named KO_ebay01. We don't provide the name of father.
Adenium ¡ñx¡ð Pollination seeds state the father's name (pollen). Therefore, it is more accurate and for future generations you can look forward to obtaining new varieties.
In Taiwan, we completely use hand pollination to produce seeds, so the quality of seeds we supply is high and we receive recognition from our buyers. There is no stable probability without hand pollination, and it is impossible to determine if the offspring will be better, what the flower color will be or whether it will be multi petals.
Q28.
The seed coat is sticking to the seedling. Should I remove it?
We suggest not to peel off the seed coat, because this situation might
damage the seed embryo or the cotyledon leaves easily, this may reduce the
moisture and nutrient during incubation period. While most will come off
easily when moistened with water, some do not. They have a membrane that
holds on for dear life and simply will not budge. Forcing them will literally
tear their tiny heads off.
Q29.
When should I remove the cling film?
During sowing, unless the seed bed requires watering, we won't remove
the cling film or open the lid till all seedlings reach 70% sprouting. If
you often disturb the seedlings, this situation will affect the germination
result. You could remove it as soon as the tops of the seeds start poking
into the cling film. Water vapor is produced in these nursery pots covered
on the cling film, and water vapor could block the sunlight, that's why
we suggest you put your seeds in direct sunlight, it could help your seeds
grow quickly.
Q30.
Why do you not sell Swazicum, Nova Tanzania seeds?
For Swazicum:
We don't produce this variety because its leaves are slender and the back
of leaves are hairy, which makes them get sick easily and drop the leaves.
For Nova Tanzania:
The leaves of Nova Tanzania get sick easily, its caudex has no ornamental
value and its flower colour is also monotonous.
